Wide

Driving in the rolling hills of Western PA. Curves. Turns. Never knowing what’s around the bend. One turn and there lies the whole city of Pittsburgh. Never seen at a distance.

The little boy in the back seat says “Mama. I don’t feel good. Can you go straight for a while?” Too late. Sickness comes.

Me longing a bit for those wide open spaces of our midwestern life. And yet enjoying the Mystery that is enveloped by these hills.

God invites me “Open wide and I will fill you.”

Even when you aren’t in the wide open spaces of your land of lakes.

Trust me when you don’t see around the bend.

I am still here waiting to fill you. Run towards me.

With hands wide open to grasp. With mouth wide open to receive. With heart wide open to know.

To you I run. Wide open.

Such a beautiful description of the voice of our heavenly Father. I look forward to following your blog as well!

  4. Love this friend. How He asks us to trust Him before we can see what’s around the bend. Your words really spoke to me today. Blessings.

  5. Love the photo!!! And it’s comforting to know that His arms are always open so what’s around life’s curve’s and bend’s don’t have to be scary.:)

  6. Hi Melanie
Your beautiful five minute thoughts remind me of the road of faith we walk with our Lord. I can relate to the uncertainty of not knowing what awaits us around the next bend, but like your little one, when we feel frightened or sick, we can just call out to our Pappa and know He picks us up every time we fall down! Thank you
    Blessings

    • Thank you Mia! You are always very affirming and encouraging! How are things in your part of the world?
