Weekend Reflection- Gladness and Joy

“They will enter Zion with singing;
everlasting joy will crown their heads.
Gladness and joy will overtake them,
and sorrow and sighing will flee away.”
Isaiah 35:10

The passage that I turn to when I don’t know where to land. The passage that gives me vision. The passage that gets me so excited with how God is active, not passive.

It is Isaiah 35.

All of it.

I cannot wait until sorrow and sighing FLEE.

OVERTAKEN by gladness and joy.

Until that day of completion, I will grab gladness and joy where I can. And let evil know it’s day is coming.

  6. Altogether lovely!

  7. “The passage that I turn to when I don’t know where to land.” This speaks to me…in a BIG way. Thank you, Melanie!!

  8. How amazing is it that we don’t have to wait to experience some of the gladness and joy now? Somehow the now and not yet-ness go hand in hand…we rejoice now knowing that there is a day ahead when the joy will be complete!

    Ah, the dance of delight, delighting in HIM> love the freedom and hope in all of this. With the circumstances pressing in and on and down, this delivers a blessing to my soul, friend. What a gift you have delivered, art.

  10. Oh what a beautiful day that will be! I cannot wait!

  11. I just reflected on this verse not too long ago in my prayer journal! I love the imagery in it. I pictured my Christian brothers and sisters locking arms and marching forward to Zion! And what really spoke to me was that He promised even “sighs would flee away.” I can’t tell you how many times in a day I sigh. Not horrible things–just enough to make you have to stop, gather yourself, sigh, and move on. It’s so comforting that He would take the time for me to promise me that Heaven is so perfect, that even those tiniest little sighs, bumps, hiccups in the day—they’re nonexisten in Heaven. Thank you, sweet Jesus!

  12. Hmmmm… I do love this! Until that day of completion, I will grab gladness and joy where I can. And let evil know it’s day is coming…. best line ever 🙂 Visiting from http://www.4slphotography.com/
