Saturday Quote- Courage {Day 24}

courage

“Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than one’s fear.”
Ambrose Redmoon

This morning my daughter collided with another soccer player. They both came out of the game for a while. She has a knot on her head. She told me she wasn’t going back in. And perhaps never ever playing soccer again. She is four.

But a few minutes later, without any words, she hopped out of my lap and ran toward the field. Courage. Deciding that the fun of running around with her friends was more important than the risk of being hit again.

What is your something else? What will you risk entering into because you know it is worth it?

  1. I like that quote. There’s also another I like about courage. I think it’s something like: “Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes it’s the quiet voice at the end of the day which says, ‘I’ll try again tomorrow’.”

    So very sweet. Your quote is very thought provoking – I need to think on that for a while! I love your blog name – Blue Marble God. And I’m glad your daughter decided not to quit soccer for life. 😉

  4. Leslie Verner says

    Thank you for this post and for the example of courage. Right now, courage for me is writing and allowing strangers and close friends and family alike to peek into my soul. Scary!

  5. Denise Powers Fabian says

    Oh that we would become like a child…
