Straight Paths- Day 6

As we wrap up week one of 31 Days of Noticing Fall, how has your week been?

Where have you noticed God in the midst of noticing fall?

In your current season, where is it most challenging to trust God?

Where do you tend to “lean on your own understanding”?

Take a moment to inquire of God: Are there ways, patterns, decisions or words where you are not acknowledging Him? And where you are?

Rest in His promise that He will make your paths straight. He will not stop directing your way for good.

Today is Day 6 of my 31 Days of Noticing Fall series. You can read all my posts here.

If you haven’t already, check out the other bloggers participating via The Nester. There are so many diverse and interesting series. You can look here for a list of 31 Dayers.

  1. This is one of my favorite verses. Leaning on my own understanding is something I am aware I do and not to but as I trust in God I turn right around and take it back. I tend to trust Him for the big stuff but lean on my own understanding in the small stuff.

    • strike that “and not to” in the second line as I was deleting and didn’t delete the whole thought which I changed my mind about saying.

  2. Melanie, I love this verse, the photo, and the questions you ask my heart — just all of it. Thank you. What a gift this is. I will be pondering this friend. And how striking the photo is with the verse. Wow. Bless you.

Beautiful picture and thoughts. Fall is my favorite time of year…

  4. That’s a perfect pairing of photo and verse. Lovely fall shot.

  5. Dear Melanie
When I read the title of your post today, the first thing that came to mind is how utterly lost we all would be if our Pappa does not straighten the paths ahead of us. Experience also taught me that we sometimes doubt His wisdom when we look at the paths through life He has prepared for us to walk on. And we still get lost sometimes along the way! I am so glad that He is our Shepherd and even if He has to break a lost little lamb’s legs to carry him around His shoulders back to His fold, He understands when He hears our feeble bleating of pain and protest. Thanks, I enjoy seeing fall through your eyes!
    Blessings

Yes, He is “It”… He is all that counts, all we can trust. And He is our Guide.

  9. This is one of my favorite verses. The photo is beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
